I Still Shoot Film: How to Cross Process C-41 color films and E-6 transparency films

I regularly get a lot of questions about cross processing, so I figured it might be helpful to do a little Cross Processing 101.

First off, what is cross processing? Each type of film, whether it be color, black and white, or transparency has it’s own set of chemicals (which we call chemistry)…

BEST LOCAL ARTIST - Kristine Diven

A renaissance talent worthy of a Renaissance City, Kristine Diven has managed to carve an admirable niche for herself since arriving in Detroit several years ago. An accomplished photographer, she reconciled the mirror images of time and beauty with her book Cathedrals of Decay. Fascinated no less by technology and the hard sciences, she refashioned a riverfront address into the aesthetic “hackerspace” now known as District VII. Building on that as a base, she curated a half-dozen art shows and proceeded to lend considerable support to Detroit’s rapidly growing steampunk community of artists, performers, and enthusiasts. “Detroit is a vivid place that makes me dream,” she says.

Worthy quote about the beauty of fine art nudes

Feb 27th at 3PM / 0 notes

"The human nude is one of the most beautiful subjects for artistic expression. Aspiring not for the common cultural belief that the human nude is shameful, “Body Shame” is an invention of modern cultural beliefs, and that some types of nudity is not automatically sexual in nature.

Nudity in fine art photography can also be sensual in a positive and beautiful way. it can also evoke feelings that shock or abash ones senses, leaving impressions perceived as immoral and disturbing, yet in others as provocative and stimulating. Overall, Mankind has loved the human nude as beautiful art since cave dwellers learned to mix paint from minerals in the soil.

The human nude is beautiful.”
